Though it served a different function and comes from a widely different culture, this delightful vessel strongly resembles Etruscan funerary urns dating to the 7th Century B.C. As with the Etruscan urns, this fellow seems very aware of his pedigree. Atop the bulbous body, the face regards us with an artistocratic hauteur, certain of his standing in the kingdom of the pots. - (PF.0703)
