Description
As with a desert night, our eyes can only gradually perceive all the movement and mystery of this pot. Two large owls, wings spread, are depicted as sharp-toothed predators. Their heads and beaks form superbly curved handles. Round-eyed rattlesnakes with pointed tongues slither diagonally up the sides of the vessel. The artist has tamed nature, violent and unpredictable, through geometric logic and we are left admiring its balance. - (PF.0705)
