Description
JB.1251. Ewer with high spout, cast bronze with engraved decoration. Nearly spherical body restingon a raised base, cylindrical neck with a collar at its lower part with an everted narrow flat rim, high and bent bird-shaped spout with a freely- moving ring on the front, straight handle with a tall, pomegranate-shaped thumb-piece. Engraved floral decoration is on the body and scrollwork on the neck and spout. Afghanistan, 11th century. Prof. Geza Fehervari Prof. Geoffrey King - (JB.1251)
