Description
The patrician family of the Catos helped shape the history and the values of the Roman Republic. This radiant token of the Classical world was minted during the consulship of Marcus Porcius Cato. It depicts a graceful female head, identified as the goddess Roma, on one side, with winged Victory shown seated on the other.
