Agricultural fertility was one of the most
important cults of the Meso-Americans. Human
heads were considered the 'fruit' of human life
and were offered the deities. Trophy heads were
taken in battle or from prisoners who had been
captured and slaughtered. The wide angular
chiseled face of this warrior distinguishes him.
He seems to rest peacefully as he is no longer of
the corporal world.
