Description
This beautiful earthenware figure, in burnished red demonstrates the delicacy of design and the skill involved in creating such a piece. This delicacy is accentuated in the decoration of the piece, with the simple black decoration, which outlines certain parts of the sculpture such as the headpiece. The features are small and the expression is fixed and determined. The nostrils are pierced to provide a more naturalistic disposition. Throughout the entire piece, the artist has remained simple yet effective in his goal and in his simplicity. The rounded figure portrays all of the emotions from the front, not allowing any distraction by having any kind of ornamentation at the back, thus creating a true centerpiece of art. - (PF.3994)
