Description
In the tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun, an ancient walking stick was discovered carved in the image of a Nubian. This fascinating sculpture, worked with sensitive assurance, belongs to a similar tradition. It depicts a woman of regal bearing, smiling slightly, her hair curling around her neck like the horns of a gazelle. Perhaps she is not a woman at all, but some woodland spirit who changes shape at will. In her serene presence, we are transported to an exotic and beautiful place. - (PF.1272)
