Description |
Centuries ago, some citizen of the Mayan Empire
wore this elegant little talisman to win
benevolent protection of the God depicted on it.
Blending the beauties of nature with the quick,
painterly strokes of the artist, the amulet glows
with pearly iridescence that seems magical. In
the fashion of Mayan deities, the God wears an
elaborate feathered headdress that emphasizes
his importance. As we hold it in our hands
today, we cannot help but wonder who first wore
it long ago, and if their dreams were answered.
