Polychrome Jar in the form of a Duck - PF.0529 Origin: Mexico (Casas Grandes) Circa: 1160

to 1260
AD Dimensions:5.125" (13.0cm) high Catalogue: V2 Collection: Pre-Columbian Medium: Terracotta
Although the geometric plumage of this
delightful wide-eyed duck might indicate that he
is a creature of the wild, his plump status as a jar
makes him comfortably domestic. One can
imagine him waddling and quacking as he moves
in search of water.
