Description |
The artisan who created this vessel during Rome's Golden Age weighed the base to keep its precious perfume contents from spilling. Though the vase still stands faithfully upright, nature has taken her toll on the ephemeral fragrance. In exchange, however, she has blessed the glass with a shimmering iridescence. The trade seems a fair one: perfume is easily come by but a vase such as this is a true rarity.
