Description |
Obverse: Draped bust of Faustina the Elder,
facing right, her hair secured with pearl hair-
piece. 'DIVA FAVSTINA.'
Reverse: The Empress as Fortuna, standing
left, holding a patera in her right hand and a
long sceptre in the left. 'AETER-NITAS.'
Faustina I was married to the Emperor
Antoninus Pius, who ordered her deification
after her death in 141 AD.
