Description
ast bronze The cup-shaped body has a double wall, the outer one is perforated, a collar runs around below the rim which on top is flat and everted; the vessel stands on a tall baluster- shaped stem and terminates in a splayed foot. In the middle bulging part of the stem there is an engraved zigzag line connecting the small perforated holes. Commentary: there is no immediate comparative example for this object, but it’s perforated design and the shape offers support to the above suggested provenance and date. AD45 Prof. Geza Fehervari Prof. Geoffrey King - (AD.45)
