Description
In addition to striped shorts, this man wears equipment associated with the ballgame: a waist yoke with stone weight hachas hanging from it, and elbow pads. It is believed that the heavy rubber ball used in this ritual sport could only be propelled through contact with limited parts of the body, including the elbows. Considering how strenuously violent the ballgame could be, this fellow wears remarkably little protection. Perhaps in his day he was the idol of millions of fans. - (PF.0612)
