Description
This man has seated himself on the ground and extended his arms behind him for support, as one might still do today in casual situations. The Jalisco potter has taken advantage of this easy mood by placing an offering vessel where the man's stomach should be, though he seems not to notice. This relaxed and comfortable pose seems ideal for passing the centuries in conversation with friends, as he perhaps has done. A remarkable piece, full of the charm and good humor of its culture, which still has the power to make us smile today. - (PF.0974)
