Description
This large woman with ritually scarred shoulders sits for her protrait with the majestic air of a village queen. She is seated on a small four- legged stool, but her regal demeanor gives it the importance of a throne. In the West, royal portraits frequently emphasize the wealth and splendor of the sitter's clothes; this woman presents herself as proudly naked, certain that her attitude alone will convince us of her royal position in the world. - (PF.0722)
