Sometimes in the modern age, we will see a photograph of an ordinary object--say a leaf, or the wing of an insect--magnified many times and we will marvel at the spectacular abstract patterns with which nature has endowed her creations. The decoration of this sensuously shaped pot appeals in the same way--it is ordered and yet random, there is rhythm but no monotony. Nature has added a further touch to the imitative hand of man; black manganese deposits that play like an evening mist across the surface of the piece.
