Description
A large fruit-bearing tree spreads its leaves over the majority of the surface area of this mosaic. The trunk is thick and has notches to indicate bark, with two small plants on either side to give balance and the suggestion of continued growth. Plentiful ripe fruit peeks out between the profusion of leaves done in muted tones, and made more dramatic by being silhouetted against black. This realistic interpretation of nature is artistically appealing while giving a pleasing sense of abundance. This mosaic has been reconstructed using ancient and modern materials. - (PF.5317)
