| Description |
This exquisite little head displays the sensitive
modeling and expressive features of a much
larger sculpture, upon which it is perhaps based.
Is this introspective youth some heir to the
Imperial throne . There is a slight, yearning
melancholy about him, as if he were
remembering the faded glories of the Classical
world. His eyes are those of a dreamer, and
gazing upon him, we ourselves are transported
to other realms.
