AD Dimensions:3.5" (8.9cm) high Catalogue: V2 Collection: Pre-Columbian Style: Mezcala Medium: Stone
When we first see a Mezcala figure like this we
think "Ah! portraiture stripped to its barest
essence. So pure. So simple." It isn't simple of
course--the grooves in the hard stone are deep,
the result of considerable work. It must have
taken a great deal of forethought to find the
character hidden in the stone and draw it out just
so.
