Description
With arms uplifted, as if to embrace the heavens themselves, this charming figural whistle embodied the imaginative and sensitive spirit of the Ancient Mayan people. We truly delight in experiencing this animal's expressive form, complete with a wide-open mouth about to spring forth with a song. Indeed, when the whistle is blown, the animal seems to sing, his melodic notes filling our senses with joy...the same sensation that was felt so many centuries ago when the notes were first heard. How fortunate we are to be able to partake in the pleasures of the past, sharing through this work of art, the Mayan joy of life. - (PF.2553)
