| Description |
Whenever we today are confronted by the
mysterious, the unexpected or the unexplained,
we tend to seek logical explanantions. In ancient
Mesoamerica, such phenomena were accepted as
part of daily life, as integral forces in the
universe. This double-headed dog vessel seems
to exemplify that approach to the world: It is at
once recognizable, composed of familiar
elements, and yet somehow is beyond the realm
of reason.
