Description
Time has blessed this fragile vessel. Dark green in color, with a conical body and long cylindrical neck, this work is the product of a master craftsman who reached a level of expertise in his art that is timeless. Opaque yellow threads have been wound spirally on the body and tooled into a festoon pattern at the middle. Two pale pink handles are attached to the side, in addition to the flared rim and applied knob foot. The delicate container must have held some fabulous fragrance or precious ointment. One can almost imagine the smell of sweet perfumes exuding from within. While we will never know whose hands once carefully held this vessel, we can be sure that they treasured it as much as the long vanished contents it once held. - (GF.0347)
