Description
This splendid shaman warrior stands vigilant guard against the demons of the underworld. He holds his club in a defensive position, as if to block the path of evil. His headdress is adorned with a horn of power, while his loincloth is that of a warrior. The people of Ancient Mexico, had a concept of the afterlife as uncertain as our own. As healers and spiritual guides, such shaman figures were placed in tombs to help the deceased along the tortuous road of eternity. Even in a world that has broader knowledge of the Universe, it cannot hurt to have the protection of such a powerful force for good. - (PF.1923)
