Description
‘The design shows three lions: two rearing back to back with heads turned to face each other, and a third prancing lion.

This comes from West Central Asia and is a little known type, not so far datable stratigraphically, but date c. 1000-500 B.C. is the most probable. The work done with gouging out the bigger areas of the bodies, and working in the details by other techniques. The results are very good.’

Interpretation and dating provided by Professor Lambert. - (AM.0385)
