Description |
The beauty of this vessel is seen in the brilliant
orange, creme, red, and black tones. The colors
bring this three dimensional bird to life. The
almond shaped eyes outlined with black, and the
red circles on the neck outlined in white show
the strength this bird possesses. Although the
head is the only dimensional area, the movement
of the wings looks as if the bird will emerge and
take flight. This movement comes from the
patterns of solid color versus dotted lines on the
wings, the banding around the neck of the
vessel, and the circular rings at the base. The
circular rings may have symbolized eternity, thus
symbolizing the majesty of this creature. This
bird is a breathtaking representation of eternal
power through the artistic techniques of
coloration and line formation.
