| Description |
Like a metaphor for the earth--the most
essential of goddesses--this harmonious,
rounded pot has four breasts affixed to it. One of
the breasts is decorated with a stylized eye, as if
suggesting the omnipotent, nurturing power of
the mother. This is a vessel laden with primal
imagery of fertility and life, almost certainly
created by a woman.
