waist yoke, part of the regalia of the ballgame.
This bloody ritual sport often carried a cosmic
significance far beyond the usual win-or-lose
limts of a game. It is possible that the ballgame
was part of the funeral rites of important
individuals, and this man may represent a
participant in such an event.
