Description
Besides the striped briefs, this fellow wears a waist yoke, part of the regalia of the ballgame. This bloody ritual sport often carried a cosmic significance far beyond the usual win-or-lose limts of a game. It is possible that the ballgame was part of the funeral rites of important individuals, and this man may represent a participant in such an event. - (PF.0613)
