Description
This charming woman stands, naked except for her turban and some jewelry, with her arms spread in an attitude of prayer. In this vulnerable state she petitions the gods for some ancient favor on behalf of the person who offered her as a votive gift. The request--and its consequences--are long forgotten, leaving only this lovely clue to some ancient life, a small hint about a real person now vanished. - (PF.1026)
