On this vessel is a couple engaged in sexual intercourse. The man is on top of the female, his hair is done in attractive white slip with two protruding extensions on the stippled top; which is either a type of headdress or coiffure. He cups his hands on the sides of his mate's broad head, her black striated hair pulled back tightly from her face. The back of her neck is supported by a cushion resting on the base, which itself resembles a large cushion or bed, decorated on the sides in a meander pattern of black on white slip. The red of the stirrup handle adds further color to this sensual scene of love in ancient Peru. - (PF.2041)
