Description
This charming whistle or Ocarina embodies the traits of the monkey, which is a common animal in the country of Costa Rica. However, the artist has designed it in such a way, that we are undeniably charmed by its appearance. The small, decorated hat and the tripod effect to allow it to stand, create a unique instrument, seen nowhere else. The deep brown colored earthenware, highlights the simple yet elegant incised designs, creating a tremendously desirable piece. Many of the features on the monkey are applied onto the body, such as the arms and the ears. Yet as a whole they create the beautiful elegance of ancient design that remains timeless. - (PF.3803)
