This charming little whistle is an example of the delicate creativity and skill that was available in the past and has remained intact to this day. Painted in black, the large, round body is offset by the small head and the delicate neck. Spaced on either side of the tail and on the feet of the bird are sets of holes that allow the sound to change. The tail itself is the mouthpiece from which the sound is first created. Though the design is simple, its effectiveness is remarkable and it is still a working instrument that can bring the same pleasure as it did hundreds of years ago. - (PF.3884)
