Description
This beautifully shaped bowl demonstrates the inventiveness and originality of the Cocle designs. The platter surface is divided into four sections each of which contains an abstract zoomorphic design. Every inch of this work of art has been covered in an elegant combination of color and design. The pedestal itself is fluted with a geometric diamond pattern throughout. The colors remain earth tones yet the complimentary hues add a distinct three- dimensionality to the artwork. The top portion of the piece is only slightly curved, yet enough to give the semblance of a shallow bowl. The proportionality of the piece as a whole is extremely well executed demonstrating the skill in art and design that was prominent at the time. - (PF.4027)
