Description
This beautiful stone mace head demonstrates the purity of design and color as well as the precision involved in the carving of the geometric details. The stone mace head is often carved with protruding cult images which are generally zoomorphic but sometimes represent human skulls and faces such as this one. However, it is the specific beauty of this piece that attracts our attention as well as letting our imaginations run away with us so that we may see a different side to this work of art that may otherwise not have been intended. - (PF.4104)
