Description
A regional Mayan style from the Yucatan penisula, round bowl with deity molded in high relief, highly burnished red surface with grey molded attached anthropomorphic figure sitting on two nub feet.

This Mayan figural bowl depicts a deity in a squatted position with bulging eyes as if struggling to carry a great weight, possibly a Pre-Columbian 'Atlas' with the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Intact with some surface pitting as seen in the images. - (E.0001)
