Description
This attractive spoon with an ornate incised handle is carved in a high Oceanic style, with curvilinear design and geometric incisions down to a wide bowl. The wood is light in colour and dense in composition. It has a glossy use patina. The place of origin is difficult to ascertain but is probably Papua New Guinea, maybe the Sepik River area.

This is an attractive piece of Oceanic art. - (PF.9967 (LSO))
