This bowl painted over an opaque white glazed
ground with copper-brown lustre is something
of rarity. Its decoration has all the characteristics
of Kashan ware.
The ornamentation in the cavetto has fine lobed
medallions and a floral motif in the centre. The
decoration dominates the entire Kashan bowl.
The central decoration is surmounted by a band
of Naskh scripts surmounted by a band of Kufic
script and a further band of Naksh script.
