This relatively small domestic vessel would once
have held foodstuffs in the home. The small handles
would have been impractical for lifting the vessel
should it have contained heavy goods. Its small
opening would have kept the items held inside
protected from the heat of the sun.
The vessel is decorated in typical geometric style.
Both black and red paint have been used to create
the geometric decoration on the vessel, standing out
against the pale cream of the Cypriot clay.
