| Description |
This charming terracotta represents a citizen of
ancient Colima, perhaps an athlete. In the details
of his costume and gestures, in his function as a
tomb votive, he gives us clues about an
otherwise vanished world. Even as we
acknowledge the vast gulf between his culture
and our own, we recognize the fundamental
human qualities we share, and which time has
not altered.
