Description
Jade assumed mystical qualities and symbolized ceremony and authority because of its superiority to other stones. This finely incised jade tube was most likely used to inhale some kind of hallucinatory powder, perhaps during religious rituals or offerings. The vessel evolves into a monkey at its peak with a double-headed feline ornamenting its back. - (PF.2805)
