Description
This charming figure stands complacently before us. A wandering traveler, or possibly a witchdoctor, he holds his long staff in one hand while smoking from his pipe in the other. He is dressed appropriately for a traveler with a sack across one side and an animal skin across the other side, as if prepared for a long journey. The artist's use of the brass allowed movement in the figure, bringing the piece to life. The headdress he wears is simple, accentuating his thin, volatile frame. Widely known, the traveler promotes wisdom, knowledge and experience, which we can all benefit from. - (PF.4694)
